Before you transplant, Check in on your soil.

Over the years we’ve developed this cost effective “potting soil.” This method creates a resilient food supply for soil organisms; which in turn feed your plants! – releasing (pooping out) water soluble nutrients for plants to absorb, as needed.

Capeflats’ problematic fynbos oil coated marshland sand is transformed into beautiful rich and moisture friendly veg growing soil.

We imitate natural cycles – bio mimicry – keeping nutrients cycling within the soil (the circle of life & death) without losing it to rot.

We’ve found standard & commercial methods problematic in our specific capeflats conditions:

Adding loads of plant food – manure and compost – sets up an unhealthy wasteful cycle of ‘feast into famine’ causing scarcity stress in plants + soil organisms supporting plants.

We’ve learned to avoid applying a glut of commercial (salted NPK,) instantly available micro nutrients and composted nutrients = all water soluble nutrients.
Most of that nutrient load went to waste, or was flushed out by water.
Plants were weak and thirsty.
Pests are attracted to the smell of waste and weakness.
