How we protect your data
Online Shop – SECURITY

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

If you provide your credit card information, the information is not seen by Plantup-za but received through PAYFAST’s payment port which is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, they follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Data Collected to Manage Your membership and subscriptions: At checkout, we will collect your name, email address, billing address and phone number, username, and password. This information is used to setup your account for our site. If you are redirected to an offsite payment gateway to complete your payment,

Online shopping: When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address, telephone number and email address.

SHOPPING PROCEDURE

2. As regards PLANTUP-ZA brand products and produce:

2.2 Website’s automated Pro-forma invoice is an indication of standard product and transport costs.

2.3 Client will be notified of any additional costs or changes in finalized invoice;
as regards product, shipping costs and any other unforeseen issues.

2.4 On receipt of payment, including shipping and delivery costs calculated.

2.5 Payment indicates client’s acceptance, and agreement to abide by plantup-za’s terms and conditions of sale;

3.1 Our website uses Woo-Commerce ‘online shopping’ platform in combination with secure external payment portals ‘PayFast’, ‘SnapScan’ and ‘PayPal’;

3.1.PLANTUP-ZA does not have access to your credit card, nor your banking details.

3.1.1 At no time will we be given access to your banking and or credit card details;
other than in reference to payment received.

3.1.2 The payment portal on our website is an automated feature of WooCommerce online shop.

3.2 Social media shop checkout facilities are linked back to our website’s secure checkout and banking payment portals.

which will incur additional bank charges to be settled on client’s account.

STOCK AVAILABILITY

4. Back Orders Products out of stock may be back ordered;

4.1 Client will be notified when stock has arrived

plants and produce has been replenished.

– five (5) working days for single items,

5.3 PLANTUP-ZA tries to ensure healthy stock levels at all times,
and apologizes in advance for any inconvenience caused by unforeseen / uncontrollable factors; such as supplier shortages, etc.

GROWBAG RANGE PRODUCT USAGE, CARE AND MAINTENANCE

10.1 Client is responsible for – and educating their end users about – the correct usage, care and maintenance of PLANTUP-ZA goods.

10.2 Our woven fabric growbags are machine washable 100% Polyester;

DO NOT EXPOSE TO HIGH TEMPERATURES
– fibre may weaken, and/or melt when exposed over time to; or in direct contact with temperatures above 90 degrees Celsius.

DO NOT EXPOSE TO STRONG CHEMICALS, ACIDS OR alkalis.

COLD WASH MACHINE CYCLE;
ensure all soil and debris has been brushed off fabric first.

USE MINIMAL LAUNDRY SOAP DETERGENT

DRIP DRY

STORE IN A COOL DRY PLACE;
when not in use.

DO NOT use fabric softener
DO NOT bleach
DO NOT tumble dry
DO NOT IRON

Dirt and debris may be gently brushed off or sponged with a mild fabric detergent solution,
if full laundry wash is not possible.

10.3 Ensuring that fabric is not ever ;

– ripped,
– pierced
– or torn
– unstable positioning, suspension or over loading beyond weight capabilities item was specifically designed for,

Avoid mechanical stress such as e.g.
-rough handling,
– misuse of tools,
– contact with lawn mowers, weed eaters and other sharp edged items,
– incorrect packing of sharp/pointed organic and inorganic composting and or soil materials (e.g. sharp sticks and rusted iron as mineral supplements,

DELIVERY & SHIPPING OPTIONS

1. Delivery is subject to full payment received before handing over of goods.

1.1 Goods manufacture process is completed, and transferred into client’s possession.

2. You will be requested to confirm your preferred method of receiving delivery of goods purchased.

3. Delivery in South Africa only.
Most of Plantup-za’s physical goods (including seeds) may be shipped within the borders of South Africa; using a domestic courier service.

3.1 Goods may be delivered to client’s export agent; on receipt of specific written instruction only.

2. Plants and fresh produce to be collected from Steenberg address; (see 3.1 Pickup option below):

ORDER PROCESSING TIME

2.1 Kindly allow for a minimum of two to four (2-4) working days after payment received;

2.1.1 Plants and produce may require re-potting and/or packaging.

2.1.2 A longer lead time required where;
e.g. plants may not be mature enough to be transported – especially as regarding pre-orders.

3.1 Collection by pre-arranged appointment only.

3.1.1 Zero Shipping cost added.

3.1.2 Plantup-za is a Private Home Nursery
No random collection walk-ins will be allowed:-
for security reasons.

3.1.3 Collection confirmation;
Both client and seller agree to a convenient date and time for pickup collection from PLANTUP-ZA and/or associate vendors and/or sales representative’s premises.

CLIENT PREFERRED COURIER PICKUP

3.1.4 Client indicates their choice to arrange their preferred courier service,

3.1.4.1 Kindly make arrangements with your preferred courier service to contact PLANTUP-ZA as regarding a collection appointment.

PICKUP ADDRESS

3.1.5 **PLANTUP-ZA’s Steenberg address map and directions will be provided when goods is ready for collecting.

3.1.6 Proof of purchase and/or identity documentation to be presented for verification before goods is handed over.

COURIER OPTIONS (B)

3.2 Our standard PLANTUP-ZA Courier delivery service options are:

3.2.1 PEP Stores PAXI courier service.
– Shipping charge will be calculated starting at R70.00.
– Counter to PEP Stores Counter parcel courier service.
– Three to ten working days road freight.
– Not insured (uninsured)
– Weighing 15kg or less.
– Typically delivered to National Main Cities /Centres across South Africa.

3.2.2 ARAMEX (Pick ‘n Pay) Courier Service:
– Shipping charge will be calculated starting at R100.00.
– Door to door overnight delivery service.
– Standard uninsured (not insured.)
– Optional additional insurance added on request.
– Weighing 15kg or less.
– Typically delivered to National Main Cities /Centres across South Africa.

COURIER COST CALCULATION

4. Website’s automated Pro-forma invoice is an indication of standard transport costs.

4.1 Finalized billing invoice will reflect additional shipping costs.

ADDITIONAL COURIER CHARGES

5 Extra costs may be added after website’s automated pro-forma invoice is emailed. This may include;

5.1 PLANTUP-ZA will advise if total amount of goods do not fit courier’s standard parcel bag dimensions,
delivery cost will be adjusted accordingly;

5.1.1 Order contains too many items to fit inside a single parcel

5.1.2 and/or physical size of goods is larger than the standard sized parcel

5.2 Additional insurance if requested.

5.3 Split orders
– Vendor’s delivery options may differ from PLANTUP-ZA’s products and produce.

5.3.1 Split orders will be invoiced separately, if unavoidable;
to facilitate split delivery.

5.4 All relevant information will be communicated.

INDEMNITY

6 PLANTUP-ZA cannot be held accountable for any loss or damage incurred due to 3rd party export agents employed.

6.1 PLANTUP-ZA cannot be held accountable for any losses or damage incurred due to mishandling by domestic shipping agents.

6.2 PLANTUP-ZA will assist where possible, regarding insurance claim included in shipping costs.

6.3 Where client waivers additional insurance costs, and/or chooses to employ a shipping service of their own choice;

6.3.1 PLANTUP-ZA will be unable nor liable to assist in damage claims,

6.3.2 nor may be held accountable for any loss or damage while in transit, as handled by domestic shipping service requested by client.

 REFUND POLICY

RETURNS
Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. Non-returnable items: Perishables like garden produce and plants. Gift cards Downloadable software products like course notes etc… To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable) Obvious signs of use. Any item not in its original condition; is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error. Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery.
REFUNDS (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will be EFT’d or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded. Exchanges (if applicable) We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. GIFTS
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you. If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and account holder will be contacted about your return.
SHIPPING
To return your product, you should courier your product to: 3 Franz Square Cape Town Western Cape ZA 7947 You will be responsible for paying shipping costs for the return of your purchased item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you request a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund. Depending on delivery address location, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary. If you are shipping an item over R100, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
